Tykes Teaching Alliance delivers high quality initial teacher training in South Yorkshire in partnership with Exchange Teacher Training.

We also deliver the Early Career Framework (ECF) and Appropriate Body (AB) service on behalf of Exchange Teaching Hub, the designated teaching school hub for Barnsley and Doncaster. 

Founded in 2014, Tykes Teaching Alliance was established through collaboration between local schools to deliver Initial Teacher Training, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), and School-to-School Support. Our alliance is driven by a strong moral purpose: to ensure that every young person can fulfil their potential and access the very best educational opportunities, regardless of background or ability.

We believe that high-quality teaching has the greatest impact on pupil outcomes. That’s why we are committed to attracting passionate individuals into the teaching profession, providing them with outstanding training and support, and creating a strong pipeline of excellent teachers for South Yorkshire schools.
