How We Support You

One of the strengths of our programme is the personalised support you will receive along the way. Whether you need help to develop your subject knowledge or time management strategies, there are an army of colleagues on hand to support you.

Each week, you will meet with a dedicated subject mentor in your placement school who will guide you through the curriculum, helping you to put theory into practice in the classroom. Beyond the school setting, your Regional Lead is the first point of contact for any pastoral issues that arise during the programme. They will be available at centre-based training each week, as well as via telephone or email. Additionally, your Lead Mentor will stay in close contact throughout the programme, ensuring that you receive high quality mentoring in school and make great progress – notwithstanding your Subject and/or Phase Lead who has oversight of your achievements across the year. Our trainees benefit from the full support of a broad partnership and the significant capacity and resource at Delta Academies Trust, the accredited body.

We know that people perform at their best when they feel happy and healthy, and we are committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment, both in centre-based training and in our placement schools, that promotes a sense of belonging and positive mental health.  We encourage a proactive approach so that trainees take responsibility for their own learning, progress and well-being.

Our programme enables you to focus on the things that truly matter, eliminating any tasks or activities of peripheral value. In pursuit of this, we regularly review trainee workload through our surveys, well-being check-ins and progress reviews, acting on feedback. Each placement school is responsible for actively addressing our trainees’ workload and discussions about workload and wellbeing form the starting point of every mentor meeting each week.
