
Exchange Teacher Training, accredited to Delta Academies Trust, delivers initial teacher training in South Yorkshire, in partnership with Tykes Teaching Alliance. Delta and its partners, have a longstanding, proven track record in delivering high quality Initial Teacher Training, and many are at the forefront of developments in teaching practice and professional learning nationally.
Our trainees in South Yorkshire benefit from local placement schools, across a range of high performing multi-academy trusts and local authority schools. Weekly training is held at The Laurel Academy in Mexborough, Doncaster. The induction conference and secondary subject sessions will take place at other locations in Yorkshire, including the Education Exchange Conference Centre in Knottingley, West Yorkshire.
Tykes also deliver the Early Career Framework (ECF) and Appropriate Body (AB) service in partnership with Exchange Teaching Hub, the designated teaching school hub for Barnsley and Doncaster.
Founded in 2014, Tykes was established through collaboration between local schools to deliver Initial Teacher Training, Continuous Professional Development (CPD), and School-to-School Support. Their alliance is driven by a strong moral purpose: to ensure that every young person can fulfil their potential and access the very best educational opportunities, regardless of background or ability.
