We are proud to be an approved End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO).
Our team of highly experienced assessors, who are themselves classroom practitioners at primary and secondary phases, are dedicated to supporting apprentices and schools throughout the end point assessment (EPA) process. We assess apprentices across the country, ensuring thorough and consistent support.
Our administration team will coordinate with the apprentice to schedule an exact date and time for their EPA visit. This typically occurs in the fourth term of their apprenticeship (the first term of the ECT year), depending on their start date.
EPA Report and Certification
After the visit, the EPA assessor will review the evidence and independently determine a final grade (below the required standard, pass, or distinction). Within four weeks, a detailed report will be prepared, outlining the apprentice's performance against each of the Teaching Standards. This report will be sent to the apprentice and the Initial Teacher Training provider, and the grade will be logged on the DfE portal for certification.
The Visit
Lesson Observation: An EPA assessor will visit the apprentice's school to conduct a lesson observation lasting 45-60 minutes. This will be followed by a reflective discussion about the lesson, lasting 15-20 minutes. During this time, the apprentice will receive constructive feedback on their teaching, aligned with the Teachers' Standards.
Professional Discussion: This discussion, approximately 60 minutes long, will evaluate the apprentice's knowledge, skills, and behaviours in relation to the Teaching Standards. Conducted by the EPA assessor, it will also include the apprentice, an in-school representative, and a training provider representative. The apprentice may refer to their portfolio of work completed during Initial Teacher Training, although this will not be assessed during the discussion.
